Job Summary:
The Editorial Assistant will support our editorial team in producing high-quality content that resonates with our audience of accredited investors and financial advisors/wealth managers. This role involves a mix of research, writing, editing, and website analytics, with opportunities to contribute to the development of engaging financial news and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Content Support: Assist in researching, writing, and editing articles, press releases, and other content related to financial news, impact investing, and sustainability, focusing on investment megatrends such as breaking social barriers, economic enterprise, energy transitions, corporate responsibility, and healthcare innovations.
- Administrative Tasks: Manage editorial calendars, coordinate with writers and freelancers, process invoices, and handle contributor correspondence.
- Proofreading and Editing: Ensure all published content is error-free, adhering to Equities.com's style guide and editorial standards.
- Social Media Management: Assist in creating and scheduling social media content to engage our audience and promote Equities.com's brand, highlighting our unique approach to mindful investing.
- Research and Fact-Checking: Conduct thorough research to verify facts and ensure the accuracy of published content, focusing on companies making positive impacts within megatrends.
- Collaboration: Liaise with other departments, such as marketing and design, to ensure cohesive content strategies that align with our client-centric approach.
- SEO and Analytics: Apply SEO techniques to enhance content visibility and analyze engagement metrics to inform future content strategies.
Requirements:
- Your conversational writing style engages readers and makes them addicted to our content.
- Demonstrates an approach to work that is characterized by commitment, motivation, team player and high energy.
- Enjoys the energy associated with working in a startup environment.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- Skills:
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong research and fact-checking abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to bring clarity to complex topics, especially in the investment space
- Outstanding language skills, demonstrating precision and fluency in both spoken and written English
- Knowledge of SEO principles and basic analytics tools.
- Understanding of financial markets and trends, particularly in impact investing and mega trends.
- Experience
- 2+ years of editorial experience and writer of news, analyses, and features within digital platforms
- Financial services or investment industry experience
- Experience working with WordPress and social media platforms
